never talk to cops you are not required to say anything just say you are exercising your 5th and 4th Amendment rights you have to say it out loud just not answering has been seen as suspicious by the courts giving probable cause to the cops. so make sure you actually say you are exercising your 5th and 4th Amendment rights. It does not matter what they ask or what they ask for, never answer them that includes a lie. If they arrest you or detain you for not answering anything after you invoked your rights, what they find is not admissible in court since they violated your rights to be free from search and seizure. Most people don't understand cops can't just walk up ID you and search you because you are in a high crime area. Now this guy might be screwed anyways because he had warrants but if he stayed quiet and did not fight back, and asked for a lawyer there's a chance what they found could be inadmissible.
