The numbers in that video are not accurate. I know with certainty that the numbers for the US are inaccurate for virtually every year [from 1950s onward with certainty,] but even the data for other countries is wrong in at least some years. I went to their video & looked at the sources in their description & tried looking at 3 different random years [1978, 1973, & 1988] specific years to compare the Soviet Union/Russia to the US spending because it felt wrong to me. But after going through all 6 of their sources listed for those 3 years none of them have the numbers shown in the video. So, I have no clue how they reached those numbers & for the US it should match one of them because they are all listed in US dollar amounts so there is no explanation involving some sort of currency conversion math.
But, like I said virtually all the US numbers are wrong. Even the commonly quoted "Defense spending" amounts are not actually all of the military spending. Those numbers are typically just the Department of Defense budgets. But, there is also the Department of Veterans Affairs that is military spending, there are tons of military expenditures stuck into various departments through the budget. i.e. Nuclear Weapons upkeep, research, etc.. is the Department of Energy, the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, etc… were stuck in under the Department of State as Overseas Contingency Operations, Intelligence Agency budgets are stuck in various departments from Homeland Security, to the Executive Office, Foreign military aid is under the Department of State, etc…
So in 2015 the video lists a budget for the US of $636,707,471,476. However, the real figure is a minimum of $906,325,000,000 plus some other 10s of billions of dollars hidden in away in various areas that can't really be separated out from the public budget information. At least the budgets released in categories of either agency/'department or the function/subfunction lists because they don't go into that level of detail. I'm sure if spent the time going through hundreds, if not even a bit over 1,000 page budget bills for the year I could find it but I'm not going to do that.
