I wonder what percentage of the " " adult population in America is a baby like this who knows they need to do the right thing but because someone's asking them to do it they refuse to and become stubborn and belligerent. Probably a very high percentage of the population as I have nothing good to say about 99% of humanity.
I usually take my cart back, if I ever use a cart, which is rare – I just – use the baskets, if I even go to the store.
However, what I would say to the dude harassing people is: "Is it worth it?"
Even though you can argue that leaving a cart out is an inconvenience, it just seems like the most empty way to spend your existence, trying to cause such a commotion over such a small inconvenience.

A lot of people don’t realize that stray carts can actually ole down a slope and damage other people’s cars. So ya, put the cart away unless you want to get a fine out of nowhere as many cars have cameras on them such as Tesla and they could find who left the cart that ended up damaging a car.
