You can pick up some words and shit from anime.. But, you won't learn the language with it.. You can use it as a tool but you also have to actually study the language and make an effort to learn.. Like, if you want to learn a language watching TV and movies from that country will help you learn faster.. But you won't learn anything from TV alone. You'll also never learn about Japanese culture through anime.. You'll learn some things about it.. You'll learn a lot about the "nerd" culture in Japan.. But you'll never understand the culture unless you live there.. From a weeb… Some weebs can just be fuckin annoying and stupid sometimes.. I love anime and all.. But I'd never say I understand Japanese culture or that I know the language.. Even if you do learn Japanese from anime.. You'd sound like an idiot to a native speaker.. You learned from scripted interactions.. You know how a scripted Japanese conversation sounds.. Not a real one.

I want more people to know the difference between somebody who watches anime and an actual weeb. I watch anime in spare time because a lot of the stories they tell are cool, and I don't have the dedication to go looking for manga. I know how to speak japanese because of a college class that looked interesting. The moment people see those two things they instantly combine them and call me a weeb. Bruh. Weebs are the people who think they know everything about Japanese culture and want people to believe that they are extremely educated in that field, when in reality they know very little and are insecure about watching anime, so they try to make the excuse that their interested in the culture as a whole. I just watch shows and speak a third language. I don't want to give Japanese culture a bad name.
