I can feel his pain. I would constantly walk into a game not knowing shit about it and get pummeled cause I used the revolver on spy cause I thought it was good but turns out it was what you would use in the more dire of situations when you miss the backstab.

The three important ones are color coded with primary colors.
BLUE : Rail Gun
YELLOW : Lightning gun
RED : Rocket launcher
Everything else is trial and error and depends on distance, tactics and map control. Sometimes it's better to combo shots by switching weapons.
